About Leah

Welcome to Inspire Patient Advocates! My name is Leah Kennedy, and I’m passionate about empowering patients and their families by assisting them in creating a comprehensive strategic approach to healthcare decision making. Throughout my time in healthcare, I have noticed patients and their families struggle to navigate the available healthcare services and resources, insurance determinations, medications, tests, and preparing for the next steps in their healthcare journey.

That is why Inspire Patient Advocates was founded.

With over 13 years as a healthcare provider, I aim to share my knowledge to help you navigate the complexities of the healthcare system and put you in the driver's seat of your care. Together, we can work towards regaining control of your healthcare journey and achieving better health outcomes for you or your loved ones.

Education and Experience

2012-2019

Physical Therapist Assistant

I began my career at the Cleveland Clinic, working on the heart and lung transplant floor as well as in the cardiovascular ICU. During this time, I also broadened my expertise to encompass vascular, neurological, and orthopedic diagnoses. Subsequently, I advanced to the role of Director of Rehabilitation in skilled nursing facilities, where I managed rehabilitation services. Additionally, I served as a Certified Clinical Instructor and Nurse Preceptor at Aultman Hospital's inpatient rehabilitation setting, focusing on patients with brain injuries, strokes, and spinal cord injuries.

2019-2025

I have continued to develop my professional career as a sales and business development leader for complex rehabilitation equipment providers, specializing in custom wheelchairs and disability equipment, in medical and non-medical home care, inpatient rehabilitation with Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospitals, and, most recently, hospice care with Gentiva.

Since 2021, I have also served as a Board Member-at-Large for the Brain Injury Association of Ohio.

My diverse experience across the continuum of care has equipped me with a unique ability to guide patients through the complexities of the healthcare system with empathy, while ensuring adherence to the highest ethical and care standards.
